I'm not trying to change minds here... But the reality is that as a back up or ccw the gun needs to be able to run through the ammo on hand. You don't need locktite to keep it together for a few mags. ( As i don't actually use it on mine) Any weapon carried should be cared for, which includes cleaning. If clean and properly assembled, a keltec is just as likely to work as another pistol that has proven reliable previously. I limit range use to 1-2 boxes of ammo at a time and haven't had the extractor screw loosen up yet. Same with the other 2 keltecs I have owned.

To those who say carry a (insert brand here) then your head is in the sand- all mfrs have failures. And all carry guns need to be proven reliable for the carrier. Anything else is Russian roulette.

Also, price isn't the attraction for me, heck I wish someone else made a super fine, same size and weight option as the pf9. I know they aren't "Cadillacs" but all mine have run reliably - and I doubt that I have just been lucky over the years.
