@Scott - It seems you've given this a fair amount of thought
Of course (annoyed) Man, (mis)spent the better part of my teens/early twenties in the '80's debating the finer points of apocalyptic survival, zombie destruction, communist fighting, etc. Used more beer than ammo. Few years after that spent communist deterring for Uncle Sam.

Now in my mellow middle age I may have to engage in literary combat...Caliber war anyone? Will a zombie attack you if you're wearing a CHL badge? Can a zombie legally attack you in a post office? Can a zombie give verbal notice under 30.06?

I hear that. I liked the two handed blade myself.

I choose a WWII Flame Throwing ShermanTank. They routed the japs (no Caps intended) and they'll rout the Zombie hordes and their Mommas. :woohoo

Assumption is 'Living Dead Zombies" slow moving shamblers that take head shot to drop.

I would go with a Calico, as many 100 round drums of Aguilla sub sonic 22lr jhp as I can carry and a good silencer (Gemtech or maybe advantage arms). Now if BetaC were to come out with a drum for the new S&W M&P 15/22 that would be prefered.

The virus is body fluid transmitted so you should avoid Melee distance fighting at all costs plus zombies are atracked by sound/movement/light so to avoid being beseiged quiet is at a premium.

Now if we're talking classic Vodun Zombies, 12 gauge (pump or semi Saiga for epic win) loaded with rock salt back up by a silver enlayed chopper (machete or big kukri).

And 28 Days Later high speed screamers... I say we take off and Nuke em from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

I like the way you think. He is with me...

I have a boat and Zombies can't swim so I think bugging out is my best option.

Excellent Katanas for under $300. I even sent the guy an email about his recommendation on a blade for Z-day.
It's detailled here:

My Ammo is made by "Satire" it's pretty good for Zombie, head shots, out to about fifty yards or so.
Tha' price is right on, I especially like how the "Satire" ammo is boxed....comes with Silver coated magazines.
The Silver coated mags. will eventually tarnish the ammo' Hence... tha' better shot placement and brain explosion on impact.
(( Remember, Not all Zombie ammo is workable Don't trust your life on cheap imitations. Use only "Satire" silver coated pre-loaded magazines with tha' caliber of your choice !!! ))
Note: Disclaimer .... DO NOT USE .380 AMMO ... that stuff will only get you drooled on AND eaten' !!! :smilelol5:

Why wasn't mini-gun one of the choices? :coolgleamA:

As for myself....I'll take what I've got. And what I've got it a DPMS AR in .223 set up for close to mid range (pig hunting), and my carry pistol.

Can't forget about the home defense pieces, the Mossy and the XD.

The real question is....do you attempt to fortify your location, or flee to a safer place.
