Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm?

I used to own an M&P 40. I thought the grip felt really good, but it didn't feel so great while shooting. After 50 or 100 rounds, it just wasn't any fun to shoot anymore. The accuracy and reliability were fine, but I didn't care for the recoil. I sold it to a friend who shot it and thought it was fine so it may just be me.

I got a pre-owned Sig P229 since then and it feels great in the hand while shooting. I might consider an M&P 9mm or 45, but now right now.

What did you get for it when you sold it, if I'm not out of line for asking...

Tax,title, and drive out I paid around $580 for my 9c NIB. I've seen online as cheap as $500 to over $600. Bought mine local at a little gun shop
that I frequently go to.
About 150 rounds only down range, but I like it for the fit,accuracy, and pointability...just a great all around gun. The wife loves it so I betting
we will be back soon for another.

Just got the Cabella's add in the mail.
They have 9mm S&W M&P for $550.

Well I picked mine up today from a nice gentleman who
let me have it for $480, and it has been sent to the
factory for the $100 "Action Job" which apparently
makes it easier/smoother to shoot.

Haven't been to the range yet, but I think I'll
make that trip this weekend. It's a very nice
looking pistol, and I'm sure it shoots nice as well.

I finally got to a range with my new, unfired M&P 9c. Put 62 rounds down range (50 monarch ball and 12 winchester jhp). I didn't have a lot of time, took a long lunch just to get out of the office for a while

No problems with the gun whatsoever, but I do need a LOT more time at the range, I kept pulling to the left and low. Gotta keep the hand from moving when pulling the trigger

Are you shooting free handed, or resting on top of something?

I guess it takes alot of practice to shoot accurately when just standing there shooting free handed

You and me both! I'm a lefty & I shoot from the 3:00 to the 5:30 position. It's in my grip I know...just something to concentrate on.

Maybe a little too much or too little trigger finger. Those M&Ps do have adjustable backstraps that also impact where the trigger finger falls ya know.

Or possibly some sympathetic "pull" with other 3 fingers as index finger presses - combined with a little subconscious anticipation of what's coming next. Virtually, impossible to do, but try to hold sight picture through the recoil. It'll let the bullet get clear of the short barrel without the flinch and put you back on target quicker for the next shot.

sounds familiar. I lost a Springfield XD40 (4") in a split-up.

I still came out better off, in the end...

Maybe a little too much or too little trigger finger. Those M&Ps do have adjustable backstraps that also impact where the trigger finger falls ya know.

You told me the same thing during the practice session/lesson before I tested for my CHL. I am trying to remember everything, and working on the "anticipation flinch"

Thank God for that!

I was always concerned about dating women that knew
how to shoot...can't never tell who they might shoot
once every 30 days, and then throw a break-up in
on top of that...

Scary stuff, man!
