The PF-9 will, generally, fit into anything a PM9 Kahr will fit into .... BUT, for $35 you can get the IWB I carry mine in. It's called the Hidden Companion

just curious, does the Hidden Companion stay in place, at the angle you want, with just a single belt loop retainer? I would think the thin kydex would be very comfortable, but does this one stay put?

PF9 and P3AT

Post by texasag93 »

I have both and both are great.

If you have one, I would not buy the other. They are too close. The P3AT is sligthly smaller.

The only problem I have with the PF9 is when loading JHP. If the nose is too far back (Wolf Gold JHP), the bullet gets stuck on the feed ramp.

When I shoot Brown Bear through the P3AT, I have a FTE every 3-5 rounds.

It stays in place for me. The tighter you torque the screw that holds the strap, the more the strap retains the cant at which you set it. BTW, this guy uses thin Kydex (which I like).
The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.

I know some folks swear by the commie steel cased or bi-metal (cheap brass like substance coated steel case) ammo, but I would certainly not shoot it in a P3AT. I used to shoot wolf 9mm in my old Spainish Star BM, but when I tried wolf, brown bear and silver bear, my P3AT just did not like it. Cheap is rarely the best.... or even adequate. I just do not believe that the laquer (or even newer polymer) coated steel cased stuff is healthy for chambers, extractors or ejectors.

just my personal opinion

I agree with you, Mr Surveyor.

I try alot of different ammo. Brown Bear was $7 for a box of 50 FMJ. That is pretty cheap for 380. I just thought I would try it for a bit of a kick at the range. I would not carry with it. I still have 35 of the box of 50.

The Wolf Gold works like a champ through my 92FS, XD9SC, Hi Point (carbine and pistol). The PF9 sticks on the first round when I chamber it, then functions just fine after that.

When I carry, I carry Speer Gold Dot. Gold Dot is too expensive for plinkin'.
