Wow, somethings going to happen like that here in Houston. Wonder if it will be televised live.

The really crummy houses start at about a million in River Oaks and go all the way up to probably 30 million.

Most of the bigger houses are gated and are so far back from the street that a tossed rock would not reach the house. The streets are very shaded and tree lined. So it would be a nice place to hold a march in the middle of the summer.

Would you need a parade permit unless you stick to the sidewalks?

Or "Quanell Roman Numberal 10," or convicted felon, or hate-mongering racist, or [former COP descriptive term deleted] . . . OOPS can't say that here.

Chas.
Chas,

What felony was he convicted of?

I tried searching for it in the past when someone questioned me on it, but he's done a good job keeping it hidden online. His wiki page makes him out to be as much of an angel as Trayvon.
He was a crack dealer. (I apologize if this post is against rules in some form. Please delete if so)

Do George and Barbara still have a residence in the River Oaks/Tanglewood area?

As much as a counter protest sound like a good idea, I would not want to associate myself with the group mentioned in Kieth B's link.
The group's Facebook page acknowledges the potential for violence at the rally and includes updates expressing frustration with other high-profile court cases with racial elements. The group's page prominently features a Confederate flag.

Good idea. It should be remembered, unless you actually live in River Oaks, neither side will be welcomed.

So add Presidential Detail Secret Service to the mix, this is not somewhere I would want to be on Sunday.
You are referring to James III and Susan, right? Not Jim and Tami Faye.

The Bushes live in Tanglewood, which isn't close enough to River Oaks to matter.

My office is on the eastern edge of River Oaks, and I live a mile or so north of that neighborhood, across Buffalo Bayou (the poor side of the bayou)
I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal

Does anyone know what the planned route is for this march? Are they using River Oaks Blvd(which is 4 lanes and divided) or will they be marching up and down the residential streets(30' wide)? Thousands of people on the residential streets could cause problems if emergency services are needed. They, the marchers, would have no place to go, other than lawns/gardens, if an ambulance, FD or PD needed to get through.

99% of the homes in this neighborhood don't have fencing or gates in the front and a 10 year old could toss a rock and hit just about all of them.
