Re: Google is officially anti-firearms
As long as they don't restrict their web searches, the items are still easily found among the results.
I've never been a fan of their 'Shopping' function, anyway.

I use Bing.com for all my searches. Not nearly as left leaning.

I'm just saying their politics are the same, even if their policies don't (yet) reflect it.Beiruty wrote:Quick test:Rex B wrote:Bing is Microsoft, about as left as they getFishInTx wrote:I use Bing.com for all my searches. Not nearly as left leaning.

Long story short: You will no longer be able to search firearms or firearms parts in Google shopping. I won't support a business with that sort of policy, so someone recommend me a new search engine.

The following Shopping Search Engines are also fairly useless for that search term, but I used to use Pricegrabber and Nextag for other things

Re: Google is officially anti-firearms
I read through their policy explanation.....it looks like they're just trying to make shopping "safer" for shoppers. We know from incidents in public schools that pictures of guns are very dangerous. Some liberal shopping for something like a caulking gun might accidentally see a photo of an "assault" rifle and have a heart attack or stroke. You don't expect Google to take risks like that do you? --at least before Obamacare kicks all the way in.

Re: Google is officially anti-firearms
Yeah, this was dumb by google. Pointless pointless, pointless. It doesn't really matter though I guess. When I did gun searches, the cheapest ones were usually from the same gun site that never had inventory. Oh well.

Re: Google is officially anti-firearms
Google has decided that they do not want my business.
Fine.
I've switched my default search engine for ALL items to Bing.
MS may be just as liberal, but they are not censoring my searches.
And if they do, I will find another search engine.
