The above link details gun shows held this weekend, March 31-April 1, 2012, in Texas.

Lewisville (Denton County) , San Antonio, and Texarkana are the sites.

I'm planning to attend Lewisville's on Saturday, mid-afternoon. I'll have on my US flag shirt
and my black NRA baseball cap, plus a nametag w/ my forum ID. If anyone from the board sees me,
please introduce yourself and say howdy.

Next weekend, April 7-8, 2012 there is only 1 gun show in Texas: Aransas Pass.

Happy shopping shootists.

I didn't make it Saturday to the Lewisville show, but did go on Sunday for 1.5 hours, from 330 PM - 500 PM close.

As usual, lots of gun candy of all kinds.

I got a chance to put my hands on many different handguns. There was a ton of Sig P238's on sale.
They feel like such a high quality piece on the one hand, but on the other hand they seem toy-like!

What I was really shocked to find for sale at the show was an honest to goodness Ruger SR1911 for $799.99.
I forget the name of the vendor, but it was one of the big ones, so they will probably go to the Dallas gun show
shortly (April, 2012). This gun was still for sale at the close of business, so anyone who wants it needs to keep
their eyes peeled at the next gun show.

One of the guns I discussed with a vendor was an EAA .357 Magnum revolver, 6 rounder, for $299.99.
The vendor said that the EAA people are somehow associated with the Israeli arms industry.
Does anyone know about EAA's? Are they good, average, or cheap goods?

There was a huge assortment of "artistic" quality 1911's with asking prices up into the 3-4-5,000 range. Wow.

I will be heading to the Tyler gun show April 21-22 to try and trade off a old Winchester 22 rifle that I have had for some time. I'm looking to get another handgun, maybe a sub compact of some sort.

Came in to post about a weekend outing, but first:

My understanding is that EAA is an importer, not a manufacturer. I don't know if they still do, but they at least used to import the Jericho 941, which might be the connection to the Israelis that the dealer was talking about. I think they also import guns from a variety of other foreign firms (Zastava, Tanfoglio, etc.). So the deciding factor is the quality of the "original" gun, not the association with EAA.

Now, then:

I made it to the Pasadena gun show last weekend with some tax refund money in my pocket. Came back with less money, but an M&P 9c to show for it.

A question if I may. Was the Pasadena Convenion Center still being posted with a 30.06 sign?

I may try to make it to the Austin show this weekend. How are the gun shows here? I hate to be the guy to ask if it's worth it, but the gun shows in the El Paso area were sadly a waste of money. :???:

Is the Allen show any good? I was taking my CHL class this last weekend and missed the big daddy.

The Allen show is small, has just a few gun dealers, mostly accessories.......SAWS (Jeff Schramm) was there the couple of times I went and also a few smaller dealers. I think that the Lewisville show is better than Allen but that's just my opinion of course.
