My dad is going through chemo right now and has lost about 60% of the use of his left arm so he needed to pick up a revolver because he cannot pull the slide back on a SA right now. He picked up one of the Rossi 357's. He found the trigger was pretty darned stiff on it. While working it with snapcaps to try to break it in he has found that it actually occasionally skips and doesn't turn the cylinder. He's sent it back to Rossi to see if they can repair it.

Meanwhile, I think he's gonna go for a Ruger SP101 instead. Tried to talk him into a LCR 357 like I have but he's got a good deal on this SP101 that will make it ok. After comparing the Rossi to the LCR, there is no comparison. Tomball Pawn has the LCR 357 for $429 new in stock.

BTW thats the "everyday price" on the Sig, it's not on sale
Basic does indeed mean no night sights (in this instance). Beyond that its the same model as the $499.99 one advertised last week.

And to address a post above, the 2022 got its name because that is when the contract for the pistol with the French national police is up.

The 2022 is probably one of the most under-rated pistols on the market today. It has one of the best out of the box triggers out there. Combine that with three interchangeable grips (I believe the 9mm is still shipping with 2 mags and one grip, while the .40/.357s are shipping with one mag and two grips) and you're getting a great pistol for the money. The only down side right now is the lack of holsters for them; its a little known fact that they fit holsters made for the XD. However, I suspect as more are sold we'll see a greater offering of support for them. Anyone looking to get into the world of Sig Sauer would be very well served looking at this gun.

You might also consider a Glock with a replacement slide cap. Mako makes one with a charging handle built in. A round bar sticks out to the side, allowing very easy racking of the slide with one hand by catching the charging handle on your belt ot edge of your shoe, etc. I recently also saw one that looked almost like a regular slide cover but oversized. It stuck out on both sides and was designed just for racking the slide how I mentioned. I thought I saw it written up in Police magazine but could not find it just now.

Thanks for the heads up on the Holsters, was going nuts trying to find a decent one. My 9mm had two magazines and only the grip that was on the pistol. I also totally agree on getting lots of bang for your buck with this weapon.
