WWB 45ACP Target @ Walley World is ~$22 a box of 100. 22 cents a round. Reloading, with the good stuff, seems to be around 10-12 cents a round. I think I'll save quite a bit of money in the long run even if I shoot once a week.

The real savings I'll see is my .308. At $1 a round for the stuff I shoot, I could probably reload it for 40-50 cents at most.

Increased price at Plano W.M.

#19

Post by jbenat »

I've noticed a price increase of about $1.00 per box of 100 WWB in both 9mm & 40 caliber at W. Mart in just the last month.

9mm 100 rd box = $11.88 in July
9mm 100 rd box = $12.98 in Aug.

40 Cal 100 rd box = $16.98 in July
40 Cal 100 rd box = $17.98 in Aug

Academy Sports in Plano;
9mm CCI 50 rd box = $4.96 in July

By the time you add .0825% sales tax it gets kind of expensive.

Looks like Academy and their CCI Blazers are the cheapest again at $4.80/box. That's what I'll be shooting for now...

I/m going to the Pasadena Show Sunday, I'll get prices there but I have noticed over the last couple of trips, the gun shows are no deal.

T's guns and ammo sells their 200 pack for a fair price. I don't remember exactly what it is, but it is better than the new WWB prices. Take care.

Agree re gun shows and ammo prices.....one guy told me that he waited til someone had a sale going and then bought as much as he could....
He was talking about buying at Wal Mart...etc...and then re-selling (with MU) at the Shows....

Re: Wal Mart. 9 MM....WWBs -some of the stores will be selling at $4.63 and others just down the road (i.e. close by @ $7.17)....Hurst was $4.63 but next closest to that was $7.17...one of the ammo area guys was saying that it's just location and competition....so
Call ahead and if good prices buy it asap. Never been able to get Academy to match the price!! Lol

Bought a case last week between two stores....put 23 miles on doing it...but will carry me for awhile. Each week I practice at least 100-200 rounds

Know what you mean Diode. If I just shot 100 rounds from each of my primary S. D. & range pistols, a 9mm & a 40 caliber and paid the usual $18.50 range fee once a week. It would cost me $208.04 a month and thats not counting if I were to do a little plinking with my 357, 380 pistol, 22 pistol and 30/30 rifle. It would be easy to spend $100.00 each time I go to the range and that's just to shoot holes in paper.
Maybe it's time to consider buying a few acres and start hand loading.

free range

$400/month would make payments on a few acres out of town. Then you have gas money, but at least you aren't throwing away that $400.

Those .22s are starting to look pretty good right now.

The guys I shoot with keep telling me to get a .22 and use it to work on my mechanics and break out the big guns less often....but I like the big bang!
