I was at the Alamo last year, no sign, carried it in... Both to the chapel and the garden.
If it was off limits it would have been already listed in texas3006 (most likely).

Visited The Alamo today, 3/23/2010; looked for a compliant sign, didn't see any. Some reference to checking guns in the fine print of the posted rules.
