I used to check another forum called http://concealedcarryforum.com/forum/ until yesterday when I found out the moderator of that forum would delete any thread promoting a .380 or smaller for primary or back up. The reasoning was the moderator felt .380 wasn't a suitable self defense round.

Now please understand that I own .45's and a .380, and tend to carry the .45 usually, but ocasionally carry the .380. I just don't like someone to dictate to me what to carry and impede the free flow of ideas and the discussion between members.

I also check http://www.usacarry.com/but I spend, like others have said, too much time here! :txflag:

http://www.thehighroad.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is not too bad, although the moderators tend to lock threads and delete posts rather quickly instead of warning people.

That doesn't make any sense to me. I carry a 380 whenever legally possible (and a 45) but I dare bet there are several people who have been killed by a 380 (or a .22 for that matter) that would argue that the round was good enough for them.

Why not delete all posts that recommend anything less than a caliber starting with 4 be used as a primary. It isn't the gun, nor the size or quantity of the round, it is the rapidity of deployment and the placement of the round IMHO. That is why we practice, practice and then do some more practice isn't it?

The only other forum I read (but rarely participate in) is http://www.survivalistboards.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. For the most part all conversations are civil and I've learned quite a bit of info on the site. I don't go to the extreme that a lot of the folks on there go to, but you can find some good tidbits of info!

No nonsense forum without all the armchair commandos. Gabe seems to have the most practical keep-your-self-alive training around.

Doesn't James Bond use a lowly .380? It is even a Walther. "rlol" It is amazing on some forums that one person's opinion is supposed to be gospel. They have yet to realize that it is just that; an OPINION. :banghead: :banghead:
