If I am just scooting over to the store, or my short commute to work, I might have no spare mag on me, but I always have a couple in the car. Depending which gun I am carrying I might have as few as 19 rounds total, up to 49.

when going into dicey areas, off the beaten path, or traveling.....

....there is a rifle with three full magazines in the trunk that two mags of .45 should get me to.

You'd lose. The G27 standard mag is a 9-rounder. I'll happily accept the 10 bucks if ntexaschl was talking about a Kahr PM40 or MK40.

I carry G27, so knew it wasn't that one. Even the G36 standard magazine holds 6.
