Could be, depending on the manufacturer. Got pics?

You can PM me or email me if you don't want to post it here.

Don't really have a pic, the camera on my cell phone went out for some reason. It's not a longbranch though, if that's what you were looking for.

Too many shotguns, not into lever guns too much and my revolver collection already includes a 686 357. Oh well.

Guess you just saved me some gas !!
Well there area lot of handguns there also, quite a few Ruger single actions, some 1911's, some SKS's, and if you wanted a set of genuine cowboy spurs there's a fella there with a big collection. There are also some nice hunting rifles. Of course there's ammo too.

I'm looking for Longbranch, Savage, and Maltby. I've got Fazakerleys out the wazoo.

Kevin,

I don't suppose somewhere in that wazoo you have a #3 bolt head for sale, do you?
My existing Faz with a replacement bolt is just barely good on NOGO with a #2 head.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Tom

Amy - let us know when the website is up and running. I am about to need to place a bullet order and depending on how horrible shipping charges are, I might buy locally

I wish I did!

Even Springfield Sporters only lists #0 and #1. The #3 heads have gotten pretty scarce.

My best advice is to check other heads with calipers, or by trying them in your rifle with HS gauges. They do vary, even when they're supposed to be the same size.

Oh, and which spec gauges are you using? SAAMI no-go is 0.067", but the military spec is 0.070". The military field gauge was 0.074". Lots of rifles that fail with SAAMI gauges would be considered perfectly safe under the standard to which they were designed and built.

Kevin,

I am using a SAAMI gauge so I am probably OK for a while. I have not found a source for heads
where I can just start checking a bunch of them to find one that fits better. Any ideas on that.

I did find one source for #3 heads but it was in Australia. The bad news is that they can no longer
ship gun parts out of their country.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about taking over your thread Amy.
I have some really mild .303 load info using 123 gr AK bullets that I could share.
They seem to work well, in my rifle at least.

Kind Regards, to all.

Tom

East of Eastland. ;-)

On I-20, IIRC, roughly 1/2 way between Fort Worth and Abilene. If westbound, just west of "Ranger Hill", well known for being the demise of weak transmissions. And if east bound, you dont' want to be in front of a heavily-loaded 18-wheeler!

+1 for the Ranger hill description. We go to Lubbock several times a yr & the wind on that hill is as tough on any vehicle as the grade. Now I may have a need to stop & buy bullets on the way there.

Amy a good source of business might be to check out the local Cowboy Action matches. There are a lot of clubs in north Texas. If you join the club sometimes they will advertise for you in their news letters and such. Here is a list of clubs in Texas.

Good luck! BSB

Amy - If not already familiar with it, some of the biggest gun shows in this area are by Dallas Arms Collectors Assn. Typically 5 a year at Market Hall in Dallas. 8' tables are $55. Next one is June 10/11.

Before anyone says anything about the PayPal thing it was the only way I could take credit cards online and I'm doing my best to find another way. I well understand since putting that on there that many find it politically objectionable, so I appologize in advance.
