Never heard of dumping in a trash can or even seen one for that purpose. Have to look for that. i just quietly pop the mag out as I am walking up to the ticket counter and put in my pocket. Seems silly to throw away when you can buy more 15 feet away.

JLaw and son should be there this Saturday afternoon...as long as Mrs. JLaw doesn't go into labor with son #2 between now and then!

I'll keep my ammo and spend my money somewhere that doesn't object to concealed carry.TDDude wrote:Many apologies. All gun shows are posted 30.06. You can bring guns in but they can't be concealed or loaded. You will have to dump your ammo in a trash can before you go in.
We're here. With gear. Get used to it.

I will be there! I will be buying a Springfield XD40, possibly a couple others if I can find them at the right price...

I usually pull my mag and stick it in my pocket and avoid the question, but i dont feel comfortable being unarmed any more. I will be there both days so if anyone wants to meet up just pm me .
I used to think my dad was wrong about everything but as I get older I realize that he was dead on
Re: BIG GUN SHOW AT RELIANT 17th and 18th
Its easy at Reliant, just walk in and go to a bathroom and unload in a stall or something. I feel safe enough there in broad daylight to be unchambered from the car to the bathroom so slipping the mag out is easy. No danger of ND in the bathroom either.

i'll be there trying to sell my EMP
Re: BIG GUN SHOW AT RELIANT 17th and 18th
reliant and GRB shows give you cups that you can dump your ammo in and and they give you a ticket for you to claim the ammo before exiting.
really doesnt matter since for every one person who wont disarm, theres like 10 that will replace them.

Hi everyone, I'm a new member here. I have a quick question since it's been about 15 years since I purchased a gun at a gun show. Have the laws changed so that you cannot buy a gun and take it with when you leave? Or if I have valid ID, etc., can I fill out the paperwork and leave with the gun I purchased? I vaguely recall hearing that there was some waiting period, after which I assume they would ship the gun to a local FFL holder for you--if correct, that kind of blows any cost advantage out the door. Thanks.

I'll be going with friends. I'm not in need of anything, but my friend is going to "upgrade" his CCW to a Glock .40 or .45. I want to shop too becauase I'll probubly be making a simular purchase within the next year. I think I'd go with the 23 or 27 if I were him, but he's leaning twords the .45 slim frames.

FORM 4473 AND A state issued ID is all you need i think. waiting peroid is about 1 to 2 minutes, or if they are busy up to 5 or 10 minutes. then u put it in your car and go home. :)sqShane wrote:Hi everyone, I'm a new member here. Now a question about this particular show: At least many years ago, some shows were known for being "high-priced" while others were known as places for good deals--I don't know anything about this particular show. Anyone want to speculate on the probability of a finding a NIB Springfield XD9 (4" Service in Black) for around $400 at the show? I read in another post somewhere that they were going for that at shows. I'm asking because it would be a three hour round trip drive from where I live, and I don't want to waste the time and gas if things are high priced.

Re: BIG GUN SHOW AT RELIANT 17th and 18th
the last show was at GRB and glocks ran for around 489 NIB with no NS, xd's are usually a bit cheaper.

There will be a sufficient number of large gun dealers at the show that pricing should be pretty competitive, IMHO.
