IMHO, it seems that if you use 9mm or .40 you have a
very good chance to stay stocked up. I see plenty all the time.

But if you need any other caliber, it's tough to find.

It almost seems that the ammo mfrs stopped making .38, .380, and .45.

All these folks with Bersa Thunders, LCP's, PPK's, etc.,
I don't know how they ever get to shoot their guns.

SIA
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.
2nd Saturdays: Rudy's BBQ, N. Dallas Pkwy, N.bound, N. of Main St., Frisco.
3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.
4th Saturdays: Sunny St. Cafe, off I-20, Exit 415, Mikus Rd, Willow Park.

True enough, but it's only been the last month or two that 9mm has been showing up at my nearest W-M. I still be picking some up, but we have something like 3500 rounds.

The Federal .40 has been on the shelves every time I've visited for a few months.

If you're willing to pay 40% or more over the Walmart-quoted prices (say at a gun show), you can find .45, .38 special and .357 -- I saw one "gentleman" at a gun show who wanted something like $75 for a 100-round box of .380 WWB.

We just don't shoot those guns much.

You do much shooting?
I try to shoot at least once a week. Since I reload, I have a crocus sack of .380's to go with my 9mm, .380 Spec. and .45 acp's. It'll take more than a few zombies to overcome Oldgringo Manor. ;-)

I don't feel the need, or have the ability, to empty the shelves every time I find 100 round WWB's at Wal-Mart. Do you shoot that much or are you a hoarder? "rlol"

LOL...oh...now I see where we are failing to communicate. In our area, finding two fifty round boxes on the shelf would be a big score. If I saw more than two 100 round boxes of 45 on the shelf I would drop dead on the spot. The last time I saw 45 at Wally world was several months ago.

Yes...I actually do shoot a lot. Before the great Obama scare of 09, I have been known to go through 250-300 rounds of 45 a week. I love shooting. It is pretty much my main source of entertainment. Started out as a kid when my dad took me out shooting his 22. My mom tells me my dad use to drag me through the woods with him almost as soon as I could walk...LOL. At 48 years old, it is just something I have come to love. I have been shooting a lot less here lately as I am beginning to worry about running out of 45.
Just curious...and not that I would or wouldn't... but if I did want to "hoard" it...why does this bother you? Again, you ask another interesting question. :headscratch

230gr .45 Monarch @ Academy on 75 in Plano: $18 per box.

There were still at least 10-12 boxes on the shelf when I left.

Academy in Webster was pretty dry, a few FMJ 9mm and 40, that's about it.

You have got to be kidding me. He sold out of that junk ammo and charged folks 20 bucks a box....my lord...that is just nuts!!! Cabelas and Sportsmansguide both have better deals than ammo man. Quit letting him rip you off and he will have to drop the price. Anyone here get suckered into any of that "SALE" priced ammo...LOL.

Cabela's has some Fiocchi .380 in stock *online* for $18 a box of 50. Not a fantastic deal but a decent price on "in stock" .380.

I need to get my hands on a single box of that to make sure my picky little P238 likes it before I buy bulk but that really is a good deal. Thanks for the link.

I received a case of it earlier in the week. I Fired 100 rounds through an LCP with no problems yet. I would have fired more but it costs too much...LOL.

PS... I just read some of the reviews. It is dirty...but I didn't really think it was that bad. It is good for practice ammo...I would not recommend it for self defense. :cheers2:
