I am lusting after either a Ruger 10/22 Takedown in stainless steel or a Ruger Charger Takedown (essentially a 10/22 in a pistol format.) Looking to get one in April.

Now just need to start finding some 22LR ammo. Any ideas where guys?

My local Academy always has 22 ammo.....though granted, there is usually a two box limit. Still, over time, you can accumulate a lot of 22, two boxes at a time. Yesterday I was at the Walmart gun counter and saw a guy purchase a 1,000 round box of 22 ammo....unfortunately for me, it was the last one they had. What I can't find at all anymore is .38 snake shot.

Got the February American Rifleman in the mail today and saw another gun I want: a new Winchester 1873 (reproduction) in .357 mag.

It's a bit spendy, but you can get some good ammo here: https://us.advancedtactical.com/shop/pr ... -velocity/

If you create an account, the price goes down $3.00 per 500 round case.

I would vote for that as well. Not really worth it though...I've got two buddies with these and they never shoot them because they can't find enough ammo to replace what they shoot.

Here in San Antonio, Gander Mountain has plenty.

I don't know what my next one will be. I have a number of different glocks but I need to venture out and try some other brands. Need to go to the range and rent some different models.
