Do you have a range nearby that would rent the 9mm XDS? I think it would be night and day different than the .40 so trying that one might not give you a good indication if you'd like it or not. Good luck.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

Yeah, I usually go to Lone Star in Lockhart, and they have both the S&W M&P Shield in 9mm and XDS in 9mm. I might rent them out next time I go.
A big contributing factor for me is also the amount of products that go well with the Shield though. Particularly my PHLster Skeleton appendix holster. I love the quality, but they only make it for Glock and M&P Shield.

Keep calm and carry.

And while we're on the subject, can anyone recommend any good 9mm pocket guns? I'm partial to striker-fired (keeping my manual of arms the same) but I don't have anything against hammer-fired.
Keep calm and carry.

As long as we're dreaming, why not?

I couldn't find a picture of it, but I have changed my mind.

I would like a Glock 23 & a Ruger 10/22.

Just finished an M16A1/AR build from a RTI kit for my Vietnam collection. Now I "need" a Smith & Wesson M&P9 to go with my S&W AR15 Sport. Hello, Santa.

I want an M16A1 like rifle so bad. I've always drooled over the aesthetics of them especially those triangle handguards.Dreamer42 wrote:Just finished an M16A1/AR build from a RTI kit for my Vietnam collection. Now I "need" a Smith & Wesson M&P9 to go with my S&W AR15 Sport. Hello, Santa.

Colt's 1903 Pocket Hammerless. At the moment the type III stands out, though I forget why exactly.
M1 Carbine. Most likely it will be the Auto Ordnance repro. Just 'cause I don't know enough to pick up an original from a gun show.
One of the elusive 3" round butted fixed sight K-frames. Blued over stainless, but one of each would be pretty sweet.
Snub Model 19 would be kinda cool.
Sadly, I don't have the dough for any new acquisitions anymore, and any extra monies should be either saved or funneled into the house.
Fortunately, as it pertains to the change in income and priorities, I am pretty pleased where I stand.
Still dream of the Carbine and the 1903, though.

Looking for my first revolver. Likely a Ruger SP101 or GP100 in .357 magnum. I'm not likely to carry this so probably a model with a 4" barrel.

Re: What firearm do you want to get next?
I have two guns on my radar for my next purchases. These can come in either order.
First, is a S&W 686 with 3" barrel. I have what borders on LUST when seeing one of these.
Second, is a Ruger 10/22 Takedown. This one really doesn't matter which model. I think I want one of the stainless models though.
Neither of these will arrive this Christmas, but perhaps by next Christmas they will both be in my stash. (a man can hope, can't he?)

Re: What firearm do you want to get next?
I'm conflicted between a 10/22 takedown and a Remington 552BDL. I've got an offer of a one time special on the 552 for $563 OTD from my local FFL coming from GoG with the lifetime warranty so I'm thinking about that one first.
