What Magazines do you subscribe to?

#1

Post by AggieMM »

And by magazines, I mean those in “print, not the kind that hold ammo. :) I’m looking for a magazine to subscribe to, and was wondering if any of you had any suggestions. Here are the criteria that I’m looking for the magazine to include:

1) Focusing on Pistols, but doesn’t ignore rifles/shotguns.
2) Conceal carry information
3) Tactics and Training information.
4) Competition analysis (IDPA, IPSC, etc)
5) Legislative analysis of “big gun laws.
6) Good selection of advertisers.

My brother loaned me a few copies of American Handgunner, and it was pretty good.

I was wondering if there were any better ones out there. Thanks in advance for your help.

The only one I "subscribe" to is American Rifleman that comes with the NRA membership. On occasion I'll pick up American Handgunner or Guns and Ammo when I can sheak it in the cart at the grocery store.

Some good articles, but I like the pictures.

Over the years, I've subscribed to every gun mag. ever printed; you can verify that with my wife. I believe even the better ones vary over the years in quality of articles and I've quit subscribing to any except American Handgunner. I also get American Rifleman and others as an NRA member.

Regards,
Chas.

Field and Stream
American Rifleman
Texas Monthly

I have subscribed to many many many magazines over the years but got tired of reading the same old thing over and over.

Thanks again guys. You silver tongue shooters have talked me right into a subscription to American Handgunner. Was wanting to change from Guns & Ammo to see how I liked something else. You made my decision. I get American Rifleman w/ NRA Sub.

I agree that American Handgunner is the top choice for my interest. The picutures have great color and depth. The only problem with the magazine is it sells me on a different gun every month....my wife has threatened to cancel my subscription!
