That "letter opener" is indeed multi-use: it's both an illegal knife (carrying a "dagger" is UCW per PC 46.02), and a prohibited weapon (carrying "knuckles" is a Class A misdemeanor per PC 46.05).

There is some argument about whether having a CHL voids the UCW charge for an "illegal knife" (defined in PC 46.01(6)), but a CHL definitely does not give you a pass on PC 46.05, "Prohibited Weapons".

I was taken enough by those mesquite grips to bookmark the GripUs site. If they'll take custom artwork for $15, heck, I'd better give them a call! Gotta see if they do 1911 grips with a straight bottom, for magwells.

Sorry for the sidebar, but "San Angelo" triggered something. Kenny Kennard was of the 1980 "Luv Ya Blue" Houston Oiler era. Kenny is from San Angelo. He was one of the guys I provided off-season strength training to lo those many years ago. Kenny was a fabulous athlete, but is relegated to the stats as Earl Campbell's blocking back.

Kenny and and I did talk a few times about firearms, so I wiggle my way back on topic...

Thanks for the fyi, but I don't carry the knife, it was a gift from my kid who just came back from Iraqi. So it's really used as a letter opener, not for carrying. Next time I'll post the Saddam dollars instead, less controversy.

Like a lot of you I have a favorite daily carry but sometimes the weather, my itenneraray or planned activities call for a change of pace. Sometimes I just like to break the monotony and change up just to do something a little different. I find that in concealed handgun carry, as in other aspects of life, variety is a refreshing way to keep it interesting and keep it fun.

I like this little Charter arms .38 Chiefs special for quickie trips to the store or on the beach in cut-offs, tank top, and flip-flops. and for around the house and yard. custom grip with molded plastic hook works well IWB, pocket or boot. Nibless hammer lets you pull it without getting snarled up in clothing.

I never carred much for the mouse guns but I'm looking at the Keltec P32. I've been wanting a little something for the ankle to expand my options in the variety department. I think I'm pretty close to makin' my move on that.

Those are the Barami grips. The right grip panel has an "extension" that flares away from the gun slightly, creating a surface that when inserted inside the waistband (trousers, shorts, skirts, etc.) it hooks over it instead of a holster.

It's a handy little feature that lets you slide the gun inside your pants and it hooks onto your belt or waist band. You can slide it into a pocket and the hook holds it from going all the way down which makes for easy draw. Same principal in a boot. This eliminates the need for ANY kind of holster which only adds to the concealability and comfort.

I have never carried a more concealable handgun. Two minutes after I get dressed I forget I've got it on me.

I used to carry this big ol' thing.

But I finally broke down and got my Kimber Tactical Ultra.

With a Tucker holster and mag carrier.
