Last night, while relaxing between loads of laundry and sips of my favorite adult beverage, I was surfing and stopped on "Boston Legal" for a few minutes. They were defending a congressman in a personal injury trial where the congressman failed to push an assault weapon ban through. The plaintiff must have been shot by a black gun. Shattner had a line where he said, and I paraphrase a little: "Democrats want an assault weapon ban, republicans want an assault weapon ban, all law enforcement officers want an assault weapon ban and 80% of Americans want an assault weapons ban."
That is as much as I know except the reason the congressman did not push the bill was because of the evil NRA.
We 20% rule.

I watch Boston Legal weekly.
The characters repeatedly said that the plaintiff's child was shot with an "AK47". Too bad they didn't at least research what the AWB actually was. AK's were not a part of the AWB.
Shatner's character went on to say that if the victim had been legally able to carry a firearm he might be alive.
The line you quoted from Shatner was meant to be Facetious. His character, "Denny Crane" is a strong second ammendment supporter and loves guns.
Another part of his argument was that guns are a fundemental part of America.
His partner in the firm, played by Candice Bergen, is a liberal and does not like guns. Thats why she had Denny close, even though he was not first chairing.

Thank you for expanding on my post. I did not watch the whole show. I am pleased that there were some pro-2A comments. Still, the day the MSM is not slanted towards taking my freedom away, I will still be wary of what I watch.
The babes on Boston Legal are hotties.
