Maxpedition Hard-use gear

#1

Post by govnor »

I just ordered a bunch of stuff of of this website. http://www.maxpedition.com/

I saw it on the CHL forum in the thread about "pictures of your daily carry." Man, this is some cool stuff if you don't mind being tagged as someone that carries a "man purse" around. I'm one of those people that doesn't care. In fact, I wear BDU's and things like that anyway. I guess I'm not part of the fashion crowd. Well, unless I put on one of my suits to go out to a club or something. Then the Maxpedition will be under my jacket. I don't care if part of it is showing. I'll still have my Prada shoes on...

I had a jumbo versipack for a while. I could carry 2 -17 round mags and a full size handgun easily. I also had OC, knives, lights, money.....all sorts of stuff. The only thing I hated was not being able to put it down anywhere. After lightening the load in it by taking out everything but the essentials, it was still a bother to me. I sold it but it would still be ideal for hiking or camping.......even fairs and events like gun shows. Just didn't fit my needs at the time. Just ignore the beautiful piece of italian steel in front of the Max bag!

That is a sweet gun. I don't know that I'd want to set the bag down anyway if it had a gun in it. I get the point though...it could become bothersome. I got the smaller one just for that very reason. I also like the fact that you can carry all kinds of other stuff along with your gun.

I bought my wife the smaller VersiPac as a Christmas present.

She carries it everywhere, it has replaced all of her purses.

I got introduced to the Maxpedition about 2 weeks ago.
The rest is downhill. I've purchased several itens since my first
purchase of the Jumbo Versipack. This gear is as solid as I've ever seen.
I took the Versipack on its maiden journey to Wal-Mart last week.
I just threw it on my shoulder as a tool belt and proceeded on. No one even noticed. I spoke with a few friends there and nothing was mentioned.
Milspecmonkey has some great video reviews on You Tube.
Best prices are at http://www.securityandsafetysupply.com

OBTW - Remember Fess Parker as Davey Crockett on Disney?

He carried a Man Bag along with Indiana Jones,Daniel Boone, and probably Sam Houston.
It takes a real man to wear pink! :skep:

Well, I might carry a man bag but if I caught myself wearing pink, I'd have to kick my own butt.

Jack Bauer carried a "man of action bag" (Wife-Units words) in the last couple of seasons of "24"...

These put that to shame...

Come on guys!!! You know you want this stuff!!!

This could be something we can put in the PSC Day, Fashion Show Extravaganza!!!

Well, I guess I'm going to find out anyway. I ordered the versipack (small) and the rat wallet and another holster for my surefire light. All in black. I prefer OD green, but black goes with more stuff that I wear. It should be here by Friday.

I have the black Versipack. I like it. Plenty of room to carry all the crap i dont really need. My wife calls it my "man purse" too. Never had anyone else question the use of it though. Awesome quality gear.
