KT P-32 Rim Lock problem
I have had a few rim locks vetting out my relatively new Kel Tec P-32 with CorBon hollow points. I had previously shot through about 200 rounds of FMJ with no failures of any kind.
Obviously, this is no good for a potential carry piece (which I intend it to be). I have considered carrying ball ammo, but like the performance of the CorBon.
Any suggestions for fixing this problem? I am considering the "Flyer Wire" technique, but am open to other suggestions.

Call KT and order the parts from them, or build Flyer's conversion. It really isn't difficult to do, but I would do a bit of ballistics research before wasting the time on a conversion to shoot hollow points in the P32. You may find that the HP's do NOT expand as much as desired coming from the short barreled P32, and lose penetration at the same time. You may want to just keep some hot fmj's in the magazine.
just my opinions.

My solution is to keep a Corbon in the chamber and ball ammo in the magazine.
As the previous post indicated, .32 ACP doesn't have enough power to expand reliably.

You can keep a HP in the chamber and another one on the top of the magazine without a rim lock problem and the remaindrer of the mag loaded with FMJ. That's what I do with my P32. But everything I've read seems to point to just using a Hot FMJ round for 32acp guns. Personally I wouldn't convert my mags for HP use because then you can't load FMJ rounds in them.

OK, I'm going to go with the 2 JHP + 6 FMJ option. I don't really like the idea of modifying a gun to make it work properly.
Can anybody recommend a good 'hot' FMJ round that I might be able to find somewhere in Houston?

I have in the past put one jhp in the tube and one on top of the magazine in my wife's P32, but have decided recently that penetration may be more important than the puny expansion of the jhp. I was using Corbon 60 gr., and would imagine they would be available at most any full service ammo dealer.

Here is an older thread: http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... highlight=
Near the end I posted a list of 32acp ammo and the muzzel energy. The Sellier & Bellot is the hottest. I don't know where to buy it in Houston. If you get some you need to verify the function in YOUR P32, S & B has a reputation for hard primers.
I had trouble with it in one of our two P32s. The firing pin in that P32 was bent and dragging. Once I straightened the firing pin and deburred the firing pin channel/hole it has been flawless with S&B ammo since.
Good Choice, Good Luck,............ OE

+1. I never had a rimlock issue with fmj ammo. (or trade it in on a P3AT).Rex B wrote:My solution is to keep a Corbon in the chamber and ball ammo in the magazine.

A while after aquiiring a P32, a P3AT followed me home and has been my primary carry ever since. The P32 is in my BOB.Cheeses wrote:+1. I never had a rimlock issue with fmj ammo. (or trade it in on a P3AT).Rex B wrote:My solution is to keep a Corbon in the chamber and ball ammo in the magazine.
