I could just imagine this conversation:
You have a CHL but forgot your gun?
WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING?
Go over to the Hertz Rent-A-Gun counter and rent one, then come back to this line.
Harris County DA was on KSEV AM 700 this morning

Re: Almost everyone
Nope, you're not the only one, I think so too, and I am a TSA screener. Of course I think they should also let screeners that have passed TCPS carry on the job too.Bubba wrote:Ahhhhhhh !tomneal wrote:... snip I think CHL holders (and All LEO's) should be required to carry on airlines.)
A man after my own heart !
Until now, I suspect that I was the only one who thought that !
:D
When in doubt, empty the magazine.

TSA Screener
Every time I think of the start up problems they had with TSA Screeners, school teachers, bus drivers, and ...
Problems like convicted felons and "undocumented workers".
I think the solution is to require those folks to get a CHL.
No CHL
you can't work with kids or be in other positions of responsibility.

The funny thing is that, typical of the media and such things, the reportage of what constituted the screening force at the startup was skewed toward the problem children.
When we first started I worked with no less that 6 engineers of various stripes, and programmers and business office personnel, all of us suffering from the telecom bubble burst.
One of the engineers was sent home, eventually, while they investigated the supposed felony warrants and convicitons in his background, even though all of them occurred before he was born - he got a nice paid vacation out of it anyway.
The big problem in the hiring process was that the government depended on NCS Pearson to do all of the processing, and they took shortcuts that the government itself would not hav. And when the government decided not to renew NCSP's contract, they lost all kinds of paperwork, including hiring medical records.
