Freedom Munitions Storefront

#1

Post by Redneck_Buddha »

I am driving to Houston tomorrow for business and I go by the Freedom Munitions retail store at 290 and Jones. I notice that they are now always out of stock on their website, but what is the situation at their retail store?

Thanks in advance.

OK, so my real question is: Has anyone been by the Freedom Munitions retail store in the last few days? If so, how did the in stock situation look?

...and calling them for an ammo status report (if you will) isn't likely to be answered honestly by them?

If that's the case, why do business with them...?

I called them friday and they asked how much did I want. I said a case of 9mm, they said come on down. The guy implied they have more in stock than one man could purchase at a time. For reloads I thought they were pretty high on price. Even for this trying time in gun enthusiasm...Over $300 for a case of 115 fmj 9mm is toooooooo much. I will wait and hope things get back to normal and we can all enjoy/afford our hobby again.

It might be, but some places that are getting ammo in are raising the prices for various reasons. Some are claiming the supplier raised their price. Others are being more honest in saying that since their sales have been down, due to not having anything to sell, they have increased the prices to make up the losses to pay their overhead.

I've been there a few times now and the only thing I couldn't get that I wanted was .22

I posted the previous comment about Freedom Munitions. Last Saturday they had plenty of everything except .22LR. Look for the Harbor Freight store. While facing Harbor Freight, Freedom is to your right. (Harbor Freight is fun to go into. It has all kinds of neat tools at great prices.) Don't go to Harbor Freight first. You'll spend all your bullet money there.

they roll through stock continuously, but usually have at least 90% of the major calibers. .22 on the other hand...

it is a bit high for reload stuff, but everything i've had from there has shot just as well as any manufactured ammo.
