Secure storage options?

#1

Post by TexAg12 »

Well I will be relocating out of state for a while and I plan on taking a couple of my carry pistols with me. Because of my living situation and time that I will be there, I won't be able to take my safe with me. I will have a roommate once I get there (that I don't know and haven't met before). I'm sure the person I end up rooming with will be trustworthy, but I don't feel comfortable leaving my firearms readily accessible to others. I was wondering what ideas y'all might have to keep them stored in. I'm not looking to keep them from being stolen, but out of sight and secure from others. I've thought about picking up a pelican pistol case and keeping it locked when I'm out. Any other suggestions?

I have room in my safe. I'll even keep them exercised for you. :biggrinjester:

On a more serious note, I would check with your LGS or range. Many of them offer on-site storage for a monthly fee.

:smilelol5: Thanks for the offer. And that's not a bad idea, but I'd really like to keep them with me. I plan on taking three with me, and I switch around what I carry depending on what I'm wearing.

Oh, I got you. I misread that one. In that case, pick up one of the $79 gun lock boxes at Cabela's or ebay? They will easily fits 3-4 guns.

I picked up one of these at Walmart for $50. It ain't fancy, and won't hold up to a serious criminal--but it works for what we need. It holds a G17, LCR, and PF-9 just fine with room left over for one or two more.
