I really thought about this one but when was the last buy back in Texas?

Seems the direction our state legislature is heading in may be a while. Not that I'm complaining though. Hypothetically, of course.

I've never heard of someone being charged with anything at one of those.

I think I'd hypothetically repair said shotgun by replacing the damaged barrel and keep my mouth shut about it on the internet.

Right! Those are "no questions asked" buybacks, typically $100, and it looks good in their photo ops.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

My problem with participating in gun buy backs is that we are encouraging anti gun sentiment/behavior.

If the barrel is removable, I would cut it up with a hack saw and buy a legal barrel that fits the receiver.

I was in this position not too long ago. I inherited 2 rifles that were...... highly questionable. I took a hacksaw to them, cut up into tiny 3 inch pieces..... and sold them for scrap metal.

Tax stamp was not going to happen. Keeping them is a liability.
