I've been doing a search on the site on GT Distributors and I love their prices but almost all of the items that I want to buy are highlighted as LEO only. Does anyone know how much they mark up the LEO advertised price for civilians? I've emailed them and I'm waiting on a response but I thought I would see if anyone on here has any experience with them.

Thanks!
Unfortunately, I've only been interested in items they list as LEO or Military only. I did buy a Glock from them at the GSSF price, which if I recall correctly, was about $30 - $40 more than the LEO price. They carried STI at the Dallas store (I'm sure Austin does too) and I seem to remember them being the same price for LEO and civilians - somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

Regarding the best gun store, I've always felt Sporting Arms in Lewisville was hard to beat. They don't carry much inventory (home-based), but they'll work to find what you're looking to buy.

As much as I like the LEO prices on GT I'm thinking I'm just going to have to go the GunBroker.com route. At least with GunBroker I can avoid the state tax issue. It's a little higher after shipping and FFL fees, but cheaper than buying at a gun show or local store near me.

No ones mentioned Budsgunshop.com or BudsPoliceSupply.com?
I've seen people complain about em online but I personally have never had an issue. Products and customer service have been great. Over the last 6 years I've bought 10+ guns from em, the last being a M&P40 w/NS for $455 thru BPS.
Even with the 3% cc charge, when I choose too, their still cheaper than any LGS around me.

I've only been to a few in the Dallas area, but of those few I like Ray's Hardware and Sporting Goods close to downtown Dallas the best so far. Every time I've been, they've been real friendly and their selection and prices aren't that bad, either.

Rays prices are high...way high. I prefer Bachmans or The Bullet Trap. Honestly though my favorite place to buy is here on Tx CHL. Best prices around...ya just have to be patient for what you want to come around. If ya don't like the gun or it's not really what you wanted...sell it on here for what you paid. Easy breezy.

In Lubbock I'd have to say West Texas Military Surplus on 34th is the best.

Randy retired and I haven't been in since but I understand the guy that took over is running the same type of shop. No bull, no pressure, just good prices. If they don't have it they will get it.

I also really like GT Distributors in Austin. I've bought several guns from them....and also used them to FFL two others, a new one from an internet source, the other a used one from an individual in NY through his FFL. GT seems happy to do FFL transfers.

Gonna have to check this one out. I'm heading to Austin for Thanksgiving, and that store is less than a mile from where I'll be.

Are there any others in Austin I should check out?

I got into this to help my fellow shooters have a fast and easy gun purchasing/transfer experience. I'm MUCH easier to work with than Academy or Dicks
I'll add a huge :iagree: to this.

OldCannon was an absolute pleasure to do business with, was easy to get in contact with and has a great Mancave.

I'd do business with him again in a heartbeat. :thumbs2: :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

You might check out Sportsman's Finest on Bee Cave Road by HWY 71. I have never purchased anything there but the few times I was in (and it has been a couple years), they seemed pretty friendly and had a very interesting collection of firearms to drool over. If you happen to have a spare $80,000 for example, they had two M2s mounted in an anti aircraft mount on display in the middle of the firearms department. The back room had a bunch of other interesting class III stuff to look at.

I don't have $80K, but I will definitely have to check this shop out. I'm a fly fisherman too, so this is a 2fer!
