There is a thread on a Corvette forum I read that members use to post their DIY projects. They run from mods for their 'Vette to DIY tools and maintenance equipment. It's a great thread so I'd like to see if we can get one going here. The theme is for DIY stuff that others can use.

Just to kick things off, here's a photo of a simple pistol/revolver rack I made from pegboard. It's a heavy pegboard using 1/4" dowel rod cut to an appropriate length to hold the gun. Each end of the pegboard has an L bracket to hold it up when no guns are on it. The L bracket wouldn't be necessary once you have a gun on either end, but I used them anyway.

You might try this 120 lumen LED light for the shotgun. Only $28.23 at Sam's Club. Has the mounting bracket and two tail caps. One cap has coil cord with momentary-on pressure pad and the other has a push button on/off. Mounting bracket also has a weaver mount for even MORE stuff.

I set mine up with the on/off switch but kept the parts. Comes with 1 123 battery.

Fairly tight beam and bright white. You could probably use the hot spot of the beam for your sight.

All aluminum and well made.

I don't have a picture of it but I made an AR-15 lower receiver vice block out of an old AR-15 mag and a 6" piece of 1x2. Just gut a metal 30rd magazine (I used an old $9 surplus mag), and hammer a 1x2 into the mag from the bottom almost all the way to the feed lips. Insert the magazine as usual into the mag well and clamp the magazine into a vice. It works just as good as a $40 polymer vice block for a fraction of the price.

This applies only to you who have a Beretta Nano. I, like most folks, have spare keys around that I have long since forgotten what they were used for. I selected one to make a decocker, slide removal tool for my Nano. The Nano has a decocker button, shown at the point of the tool, that is used to deactivate the trigger when pushed. The tool will also turn the cam 1/4 turn to allow the slide to be removed. I can use the tool while it is still on my key ring. It is very simple but handy.

I made a collapsible target holder out of some 2x4's and 2x6 and used 4x4's on wire to make swinging targets. When upright its about 7.5 feet tall but broken down its short enough to fit in my 5.5 foot long F150 bed.

I use this in my backyard for practice, it's a GAMO MTS1000, the first gun is a Beeman Vulcan .177 & the second is a Henry with Super Colibri .22 shorts. It keeps my skills up when I only have a few minutes. Click on the picture to see the video. I have great neighbors
