New Range in Lewisville around June

#1

Post by Griffen »

Not sure if anyone is aware that there is a new shooting range scheduled to open in June. I met the proprietor at the Lewisville gun show a few weeks back, and now have the website information:

http://www.eaglegunrangetx.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Opening Late Spring 2012
Eagle Gun Range will be a 24 lane state-of-the art facility. Each lane is 25 yards long. It will not only be designed for the avid shooter, but also for the novice and occasional shooter. The range welcomes those who are interested in learning more about responsible firearm safety and ownership.

The overall safety of shooters and spectators is the priority that will receive special attention in the design and construction of the range and, with this goal in mind, will result in a facility which will surpass all other indoor shooting ranges. The equipment will include a sophisticated purging filtered ventilation system for cleaner air for the shooter while effectively surpassing all NIOSH, NRA, and OSHA air quality standards. All lanes will have individual protected shooting positions and down range ceiling baffle system on all the ranges.

Our range will be air-conditioned and heated with proper lighting, and a monitoring system allowing us to continually screen all shooters on the firing line. The range will also be wheel chair accessible .

It looks like it will be located just east of I-35 off of Valley Ridge Blvd.

I for one am planning to give it a try! :hurry:

When I chatted with the Eagle folks at the FW gun show, they did say they were looking into being able to host some of the various competitions (i.e. IDPA / USPSA / Steel Challenge ) in the future. I've got my card for the free hour when they open...

I have my "free hour" card(s) also.....can't wait to go try it out. I used to go to Bullet Trap and now I go exclusively to DFW Gunrange. Each is about 15 miles from my house and this one is about 13 miles so I'll go and see how I like it.

OP: Hey, thanks for the heads up on this. This is very close to me, but I had not heard about
it until you "shared the wealth" with the rest of us.

$20 for an all day lane sure beats the $12.99 for an hour at Bass Pro in Grapevine.

I will be driving by the location to check out what's there right now.

For anyone who didn't access the link: 501 Valley Ridge, Lewisville, Denton County, Texas.
This should be somewhere between the Ford Country Ford dealership and the lights at Mill Street.

SIA
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.
2nd Saturdays: Rudy's BBQ, N. Dallas Pkwy, N.bound, N. of Main St., Frisco.
3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.
4th Saturdays: Sunny St. Cafe, off I-20, Exit 415, Mikus Rd, Willow Park.

That's great news! That's only about a 15min drive for me, cool! :hurry: I like to shoot outdoors, but my brother likes the indoor ranges. Life is good when you have options! :patriot:

I was in there today, for the first time, and I was very impressed.
Friendly staff, great lighting, excellent ventilation, comfortable climate and modern lanes.
The shooting area was very spacious.
Pro shop wasn't bad but has lots of room for improvement.

There is even a little lounging area where you can relax for a bit in you want.

The also have half priced range fees for vets and first responders Monday-Friday.
