It's legal for your dad to buy a gun and gift it to you. It's not legal for you to give your dad money to buy a gun for you.Russell wrote:snatchel wrote:If your mil/ex mil (with dd214)/first responder/police.......
GT Distributers in Dallas or Austin. Gen 4's run you 399+ tax.
They also have a website, google them.
Nice prices! I am not, however my father is ex-army. Would it be considered a straw purchase if I had him purchase the weapon with intent to gift it to me? Would like to take advantage of those prices if I can, but don't want to break any laws...
A bit of an odd suggestion here: Join GSSF (http://www.gssfonline.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and you can get one Glock pistol a year at a really low price. It's not a bad deal for $35, AND you can pick it up from a local dealer (I know GT Dist in Austin supports this - I got a G23 Gen4 from them before I became a dealer myself).Russell wrote:Well I suppose that idea's out of the question then.
Thanks
Too bad you didn't ask a few weeks ago. You and your dad could have bought each other $400 Christmas presents.Russell wrote:Well I suppose that idea's out of the question then.

I'd call GSSF on this -- that doesn't sound right, nor does it even sound customer friendly.Russell wrote:Good suggestion, but unfortunately you are required to be a member for 2 years before you can use the discount according to GT Distributors. I'm wanting to make this purchase in the next couple of weeks.
I agree but GSSF changed the rules last year to drive sales to XD instead of Glock.OldCannon wrote:I'd call GSSF on this -- that doesn't sound right, nor does it even sound customer friendly.Russell wrote:Good suggestion, but unfortunately you are required to be a member for 2 years before you can use the discount according to GT Distributors.
