Re: Ammo?
Ammo is heavy, which costs significantly more per cubic foot to ship than, say, clothing. Any vendor that ships for free is making it up in the price of the ammo.

Re: Ammo?
Thanks for the link! I did some quick comparisons and it seems to be a few cents cheaper per 9mm bullet than other stores.eureka40 wrote:The Annoyed Man wrote:Ammo is heavy, which costs significantly more per cubic foot to ship than, say, clothing. If you are close to Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas for that matter, check out Ammo To Go located in Brenham.

Re: Ammo?
Can we perhaps collectively create a listing of all the places where one could buy ammunition online? Like a list of links and any restrictions (can't ship/sell in this state, this state has taxes) in parenthesis?
For example:
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com (Sales Tax: Texas)
http://www.basspro.com (Sales Tax: Texas, see note 1)
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com (Sales Tax: Texas)
http://georgia-arms.com (Sales Tax: Georgia, manufactures own ammo)
http://www.sgammo.com (Sales Tax: Oklahoma, see note 2)
http://ammoman.com (Sales Tax: New Jersey)
1: No selling to MA, NJ, IL, New York City, or Washington DC. Contiguous 48 states only.
2: No shipping to MA, Los Angeles CA, Oakland CA, San Francisco CA, Chicago IL, New York City, or Washington DC.
EDIT: Added more websites

Re: Ammo?
Just found this tonight for 40 S&W hollow points.
Kinda sounds "too good to be true" but I'm not sure. I would say proceed at your own risk. They are in Oklahoma.

I have never purchased from them, but they do seem to have good prices.

Re: Ammo?
I've purchased from them twice. The first time was several years ago on gunbroker.com. I don't think they had an online store at that time. I just purchased again recently. They shipped on Monday and I received it on Wednesday. Both times I was purchasing .380 Gold Dot. I was well pleased with both purchases.eureka40 wrote:Just found this tonight for 40 S&W hollow points.

Re: Ammo?
My local Wally World has better or very similar prices than most of these. I recently got two 100 round boxes of .45ACP for 69.22 with tax.

Already a website. Enter your zipcode and it will give you shipping.Thomas wrote:Can we perhaps collectively create a listing of all the places where one could buy ammunition online? Like a list of links and any restrictions (can't ship/sell in this state, this state has taxes) in parenthesis?

Re: Ammo?
Just a note to all that gun-deals.com's content is participant-driven. I highly recommend anyone interested in researching prices register at the site and contribute whenever possible, whether it be providing new information or validating existing deal info. The more of us who do this, the more valuable the information.puma guy wrote:Already a website. Enter your zipcode and it will give you shipping.

I've been contributing there for over four years, and it really truly is free and unencumbered. I've never received a single piece of spam email as a result of registration, and I've used it many times to locate items I decided to purchase. I join with puma guy in giving the site a thumb's up.

Re: Ammo?
I've found that even with sales tax Ammunition to Go is cheaper overall than most of the other online ammo retailers. I compared the same number of boxes of the same brand/bullet type of ammo from one out of State company and ATG. ATG even with sales tax was 20 bucks cheaper because the shipping charge was so much less. The other co's price was about $2.00 less per box than ATG the shipping was outrageous!
