For Those Considering the SIG P238...

Thanks for the write-up klnjr. I've been looking at the p238 for a pocket carry when I can't conceal a bigger gun IWB (shorts/t-shirt, for example). I've seen mixed reviews as well but it seems that Sig has worked most (all?) of the issues out with the later manufactured pistols.

Also, I've held one with the 7-round extended mag and it feels great. That'd be a quick purchase after the gun for me.

Be sure to order the extended mag through CDNN... $12 cheaper. Since they have flat rate shipping ($9.99) may as well load up on their ammo as well. I bought Federal Eagle from them for $12.99 a box... 10 boxes plus 2 extended mags, same shipping.

They have the generic, but I ordered the actual sig factory brand because prior editions of the mags were destroying the feed ramp...and no way to know what the geberic one would do.

Agreed - thanks again for the info. Like I said, I handled a P238 w/ 7 round mag and I will be purchasing the extended mag shortly after I purchase a P238. I might wait until the beginning of the year before I pull the trigger (so to speak) but I may decide to do it earlier.

I can get the sights I use on my XD and Glocks for a P238, but not my other .380s

What's wrong with that 238? I think it's sharp too! Ours has the tritium nite sights so I wouldn't want to put those others on ours, but that is pretty kewl.

I bought some wood grips off ebay a few weeks ago.
$25 shipped, very nice quality. They came straight from Thailand.

I had a set for a S&W 642 (that I since sold) and waiting for delivery of a set for the SP101 that I just bought ($35.88 and free shipping). You can't beat the quality (handmade) for the price, I am quite happy with them.

You just don't see many handmade grips anymore at that price point.
