Cannon jumped in my bag at GRB Show

#1

Post by rm9792 »

Went looking for the 4" .500 Magnum and only one vendor there has them, everybody else had the 8" only. My first revolver, not a wheel gun fan but made an exception for this one. Put about 15 rds thru it and was done, her recoil is intense! I did research and found out I bought the worst load available for recoil, the 440g bear load. Gonna find a little easier load for "plinking". It was a dull silver but 3 hours with Flitz and she shines real nice. Pics dont show just how big this thing is, I put a .45 slide and bullet there for comparison. I shot a gallon jug of water from 25yds and it literally blew in half, never seen a jug completely go two different directions before.

Torque isnt bad, my Desert Eagle is worse. The recoil is up and back, digs into the web pretty good. Gonna try it with shooting gloves next time, plus a lighter load.

It's beautiful. I've been having a hankering for a big ole stainless revolver lately. I really like the look of the four inch barrel on that one.

There's just something about wheel guns that makes them irresistible to me. ;-)

I ordered 100rds from CTD of the BVAC ammo last night. It was $22 a box. I just needed a 100 or so rounds to start reloading it. I have lots of bullets for my Desert Eagle and plenty of powder so just need to get the dies and shellplate. I went to a bunch of sites for ammo but CTD had the best price. Some of the places were $5 a round or more.
