Newest acquisition...

Well, I mentioned on here at some point in the past of wanting a "service revolver"...that is, a .357 Magnum revolver with a four-inch barrel. I went to the Ft. Worth Gun Show at the Will Rogers yesterday, and came out with one. It is a NIB Taurus Model 66 stainless steel 7-shot. I also looked at a couple of used Smiths, one was a rather nice Model 686 with very little wear (no flame cutting and just a little "shine" from holstering) but it was just a bit outside my price range. And the dealer who made the sale of the Taurus to me had the thing at a price I just couldn't pass up. I've looked around the 'net a bit since (and I had an idea in mind about how much it should have cost) and I feel I did good. I know that a lot of folks will say that the Taurus is a "disposable" gun next to a good Smith, but when you've got the "itch" and the price is right, sometimes you just have to go for it. I'll post again about this thing once I get some range time in with it. I'm going to put regular .38 Specials, +P rounds and .357 rounds through it to get a good idea of how it handles. And I'll keep my fingers crossed that I got a good one.

Yeah, let us know how she goes at the range. Having a 7-shot .357 revolver with a good 4-inch barrel will never be a bad item to have in your ownership.
