You will find excellent suggestions here. I own an LCP with a CT Laserguard installed, however I very seldom carry it. I choose to carry a Sig P238 instead simply because it shoots better and operates more natural for me. Teamless says he considered it as well, but decided against it because it lacked a decocker, that is a personal decision however it is often an indicator that someone is pocket carrying without a holster as well. Regardless of what you end up buying Also invest in a decent pocket holster for it as well. A decent holster will do two things, first it will control the firearms position in your pocket while completely covering the trigger guard ensuring that nothing gets into it. The second thing it will do is help break up the outline of the gun in your pocket making it more difficult to notice visually. I myself feel that a good holster is every bit as important as a good gun for pocket carry, and I would encourage you to think the same way.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

I agree with your post, but my issue is really to do with my degenerated muscles due to a genetic disease that I have, so gun safety is a priority to everyone, but I have to look one step further that my muscles don't always do 'what they are told'
I would not want to have a ND or AD when trying to release pull the slide to eject a round with the hammer back.

I actually stuck one down my pocket and the seller looked at me crazy like I was stealing it. Awkward moment solved by a short conversation, and he moved me down a few feet to the keltec/lcp/bodyguard section.
Really? Hmmm.... Which of the Kahr models did you handle? I can pocket mine quite easily. Now, my pants likely have a much bigger waist and seat than yours  , but I can assure you that our pockets are probably the same size.

These are the models you want to be looking at:

PM9: http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-PM9.asp
CM9: http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-CM9.asp
MK9: http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-MK9.asp (all stainless steel, and about 8 oz heavier than the other two)

All three of these are aimed squarely at pocket carry. The Kahr website even sells pocket holsters for these pistols. They also sell belt holsters for them too, but pocket carry is definitely the target market.

TAM, I went to the gunshop today to take a second look at the Kahr's, and they are very much pocketable. Maybe the reason was that instead of wearing blue jeans, I was wearing shorts this afternoon and they tend to have looser fit. I dunno, but your are right sire--they deserve a second thought for sure. I dont know if I can justify the extra 100 bucks or so, but they sure are nice :)

While I was there, I further added to my delimma. DiamondBack sure does make a nice litle .380--and I also am super fond of several different j-frames and other pocket 38's. What I have decided is to just wait and see what happens. I dont know what I really want, so I dont want to go buy and end up regretting. I figure that for now I am just fine without a pocketgun, and maybe I can get in some range time with some buddies who have some of these that I could shoot. Or maybe I'll come upon a deal on one of them that I cant pass up. I dunno. I cant commit. If only Glock made a pocket gun--then I know what I wanted :))))

Where are you located, if you start a separate thread, asking for range time with various guns, I am sure you will get many takers who will let you shoot theirs, provided you buy the ammo probably.
if you are in Houston, I have SW Bodyguard .380 you can try and we can do PSC Range, so there is no range cost, just a bit of sweating!

Have ran over 100 federal JHP there my LCP with no issue. Shot over 500 rounds total threw it with 1 fte, was the mag with pinky ext. When I loaded that mag something didnt feel right, about the 4 round didnt eject. Got home changed the bottom plate and ran another 100 rounds threw that mag with no issues.
