Some things I just don't get....

I was skimming through a Sportsmen's Guide Shooters catalog that came in today's mail when I come across a listing for a non working replica of a Thompson sub gun for $1,197!!! :?

Do people really pay this kind of cash for a fake gun? If so, I want what they are smoking.

Why would anyone seriously buy something like this? Coming from a theatrical background I can see where something like this would be useful as a prop, but not for almost $1200.

You can get a working semi-automatic for that price.

I think it was P.T. Barnum -- correct me if I'm wrong -- who said something to the effect of 'There's a sucker born every minute'.

'There's a sucker born every minute'.
And two to take him.

But that was back in the good day's. Look at the fake taxes you pay on your land line phone. Look at the wasteful spending by our government. The crap corporations dream up to screw us out of money. We have all become suckers now.
