Is this a good deal?

#1

Post by Big Ben »

I found a brand new Smith and Wesson M&P Ar 15 chambered for 5.56. It comes with quad rails, a promag forward grip, a streamlight TRL-1, an Eotech reflex sight flip up MBUS, and 1000 55gr fmj .223 rounds for $2000.00. This seems to me like a good deal but would like some feedback before I commit to the purchase.

I'd agree; maybe even less. The Magpul backup sights (I'm assuming that's what they are since he says MBUS) are $50 or less new. A Promag VFG is $10.

The quad rail is the only question mark, but unless it is KAC it's not worth the $300 difference.

Eotechs can range in price from $250 to $500+ so some more information would be helpful.

Is the rail a free float or drop in rail system? Big price and quality difference in my opinion. What type of sights? Agreed if they are the magpul MBUS then they are not a high cost item. The rails can cost between $50-300 depending on length/features and brand.

Not a good deal. Buy separate and get what you want.

1000 rounds of "ammo" and an "Eotech" could mean lots of things. XM193 and a 511 or Hornady Tap and an a new XPS?

I would shop elsewhere. Also couldn't buy from someone who outfits a real weapon with airsoft level accessories (the grip).

Also to note I have a KAC rail system I traded for a while back. Is it sturdy YES, is it as sturdy as a free float rail not quite, is it worth $300 not no but heck no. Knights Armament is not gold I'm here to say

I got a M&P AR similar set up for $1200. $2000 seems a bit high.

Not a good deal becuse it might not be set up like you want. The S&W M&P comes with Troy filp up battle sights so that not an added cost ( mine are not even on the gun). What model M&P, what model EO tech.. did you want a EO tech or something else. Did you want that light or something else. Same with the fore end. I belive the only M&P with quad railes ( Troy) is the M&P15T// new its around 1,300, they can go up and down in price but most AR prices are down right now/.

NIB M&P15T 1,300
Front Sight: Troy Adjustable, Folding Battle Sight
Rear Sight: Troy Adjustable, Folding Battle Sight
Forend: Troy 4-Sided, 10" Free-Float Modular Rail Forend (MRF)

NIB Eo tech 512,,,,,,,399.00
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =217542753" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So thats 1.7k for gun and optic.. Lights are to personal to get into.

Hope this helps and let us know either way :clapping:

The etch is the 512 and the rifle is the 15x which does have the Troy rails even though everything is s&w branded.
