Nite sights for a Glock 21?

I have a Glock 21 that I use as my bedside gun. I am thinking that I would really like to have some nite sights put on this gun just in case something goes bump in the night and I need to potentially do some low light shooting.

Does anyone have recommendations for some good night sights, and is this a job that I could do myself, or would I need a gunsmith?

I have several Glocks with Tru Glo TFO sights on them , works great with no light to low light
dont need light to charge them up
If you have sight tools very easy to do yourself , most shops will install when you buy them too

Either TruGlo or Trijicon's won't let you down. Just find somebody that can put them on for ya (or borrow a sight tool from somebody). The price from Botach is a great one, should you decide to go that way.

Don't forget about Meprolight! Pound for pound the same quality as Trijicon if not slightly brighter. Some run a little cheaper than Trijicon if you look in the right places. I have both Trijicon and Mep's on my glocks and prefer the mep's overall because of their brightness and focused sight picture in the dark. The TruGlo are nice also, I have used them but I haven't installed any on my guns before. I think you will serve yourself well if you purchase any one of these three brands.
As far as installing them yourself... If you have access to a sight pusher tool for your glock, it will be a no brainer! They do make a few models that require no pusher to install them (most of these models are adjustable sights). They slip into place and you just tighten the allen screws to secure the sights in place. A little thread locker and you are good to go.
As far as the standard fixed sights, trying without a pusher is a little harder to do, and you do risk breaking the tritium vials in the sights. Most companies won't replace a sight that is broken during installation unless it is an authorized dealer with the proper tools.
I have a pusher now, but I used to install them with a non-marring punch and a small hammer. If you are careful you shouldn't do any damage, but one wrong slip could ruin your sights.That being said the choice is up to you and your confidence in your ability.
I prefer green sights as they last longer (in terms of brightness) over the years you will have them on your gun. Yellow is the next longest lasting. In most cases with tritium, the darker the color the shorter the lifespan of brightness.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend night sites in a bed side gun. My reason isn't the obvious though.

I have an attached light to mine, so it's not for seeing my sites after I get up, but it's for seeing my gun in the drawer.

Those sites really light it up and show me wear to reach in the dark.

Get a light too so you can see what you're shooting at. :)

I'm a big fan of the XS 24/7 big dot night sights, you may want to give them a look. I have them on my G19 and G30. Installation is a breeze too!

My wife's G19 came with Trijicon's installed at the factory. They are most excellent and bright sights. I have them on 2 or 3 other guns of mine.

That is why I like night sights on my protection guns. Not only for ease of finding them but quickly know which way to pick it up!

Factory sights are by far the best value, I think they were like $50 last time I bought some.

Also second the light recommends. I have a G21sf as a duty gun and have a TLR-1 on it. Works great. It also usually stays at my bedside for consistency sake.

Great advice, and alot of brands to further research.

I definitely am going to get the night sights for my G21, and may also get them for my G19 EDC. Does anyone have recommendations for a good gunsmith in the Houston area (or better yet, Katy)? I don't have the tools and also don't have alot of confidence in my ability to do this myself.
