Question for all Glock owners : My Glock jammed!

#1

Post by xpur3l0g1cx »

Hey all, I purchased a Glock 29 a few months back, put maybe 200 rounds through it. I had a total of 5 jams at all 3 range sessions. It will hang the round up on the top of the chamber leaving the slide open. If i hit it hard enough it ll close but Ive tried multiple ammo and all the same result. I then purchased a lone wolf 10 to 40 conversion and same problem. My question is on my slide. The front sight has a screw underneath the slide and It isn't recessed or countersunk. Just curious if anyone has there front sight screw recessed on their slide. The only thing I can think is my screw is hanging up on the barrel or my mags are bad. No limp wristing here either. Any thoughts? Thanks

My Glock jammed!
LIAR!! Blasphemer!!! :mad5 :evil2:

OK just kidding :lol::

That screw isn't supposed to be resessed. I have no idea what could be causing it. It's a Glock, it ain't s'posed to do that.

Could try the old stand-by remedy .... try a different mag and/or different mag springs.

If that doesn't work, I would contact Glock and ask about sending it back for a looksee if it's a repeating problem with multiple ammo.

The screw in front sight is normal, and it is not flush. You use a small hex type socket too to unscrew it. Call Glock CS, and they will fix your gun.

Is the area around the screw recessed?

There. Somebody had to say it. "rlol"

Thank you TAM. Glad to see you're ready at your guard post where you should be. Wouldn't want any Glock-bashing opportunities to pass by without a trained expert taking potshots :fire

So wait let me get this straight...GLOCKs have problems too!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

and TAM beat me to the 1911 remark.

On a serious note, I wish I could help you with that one but I know nothing about GLOCKs. Sounds to me that the piece that grips the round from the mag (I am having a HUGE brain fart on the name) is not working properly and is holding some of your rounds high.

Well, first thing I would do is call Glock and tell them what’s going on. Have you modified the gun in anyway? You said wolf springs. Glock will probably recommend you go back to stock springs. Do you have Pearce grips or aftermarket mags? Some say the Pearce grips extensions cause problems but I have never had a problem on my G27. The only ammo I have heard of with feeding problems in the 10mm is the Gold Sabers. By any chance is it the Double Tap 165 Grain ammo you are using or Blazer aluminum? I have had really bad problems with the blazer and have heard from other 10mm guys that the GoldSabers have problems feeding. What ammo have you used? I am in the Houston area and have several different brands of 10mm if you want to run something different, if you live in the area. First things first, call Glock. I love glocks and have never had a problem except with ammo but any gun could have problems from the factory. Look what people kept saying about Toyotas and they just recalled another 400K for steering problems.

I've got a new 29 that will occasionally have this issue with the first round off a full mag. I'm thinking the springs in the glock mags are SO tight when new that it's nearly impossible to get the 10th round in (even with a loader). Is the issue with the first round or with one in the middle?

I blame my issues on following the slide a little bit when releasing, a tap, rack, fixed the issue every time.
