The basic slide holster the Springfield furnishes is OK, but not the best for concealment. I found a good OWB holster in the Comp-Tac FBI paddle, an OWB Kydex holster that fits securely over the waistband and the slide and muzzle is outside the pants and covered by the holster. It works very well and I can conceal the full size pistol under a large shirt and it is surprisingly comfortable. It seems to me, so far, that OWB is easier to learn to use than IWB. I have thought about getting the XD SC, since it would be easier to conceal.
I just picked up a XD service 9mm. for the moment I'm carrying it in my IWB WRB nylon rig that I had for my PT111MP, its not ideal and i'm looking for something else.

I"m a toothpick and I'm surprised to find that hardly anybody can tell I'm carrying. almost regardless of what i'm wearing.

I prefer IWB as it lessons the chance of the muzzle being revealed if/when I raise my arms and the shirt rides up.

It was a unique day the first time I carried. I was just SURE everybody knew I was carrying. then quickly discovered that most of my friends could literally rest their hands/arms on the grip and not have a clue it was there.

BTW it just gets more expensive. You'll never have just one carry gun and each gun must have a holster or two.
Ain't that the truth.

If I am wearing some cloths that make it hard to conceal then I put my Kel-Tec 9mm in a leather fanny pack and wear it . It makes it pretty easy to get to and conceals it real good. The extra pockets are good for extra clips too. Rick
