First Air Travel w/ CHL..
Will be in Orlando Sept 9-12 and debating whether it's worth the hassle. It's a businness trip and a little wine and dine for me from my Florida hosts. What'dya think ?? I am planning to travel light and trying to avoid to check-in any luggage...Thanks for your inputs..

I always bring along my handguns where allowed so I always check bags. Highly recommended and have never really had any hassles.

So you Fedex/UPS your bag. Do you disclose the fact there is a firearm?
If it is lost, do you disclose the fact that you were shipping a firearm.
Please enlighten me to the BATFE rules on shipping firearms in baggage. Don't you have to ship to an FFL?
Please teach me.

(B9) May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity? [Back]
Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. The package should be addressed to the owner. Persons other than the owner should not open the package and take possession of the firearm.

As I understand it, you can ship to yourself, even across state lines, but you are the only one legally allowed to open the package. I do not recall if they said other folks could sign for them.
I just carry renter's insurance that covers all of my property worldwide, so if I lose my baggage, they cut me a check. I have not lost a bag yet while flying, but I too mark them conspicuously.
