Another request for the Austin area or San Antonio. Thanks.

I'd love to be able to offer a space, but even a dozen would be cramped in my living room.

Charles,

I'm in Dallas and would certainly be interested in attending one of your seminars....in fact, I would drive to Ft. Worth to attend.

Thanks for all of your efforts for TSRA and CHL.

Any news on these seminars? Seems like a good idea, but a bit slow in getting off the ground. No flame intended, just curious.

If College Station is large enough to merit a seminar, we've got the space ready.

That's good to hear, what would we need to do to set it up?

We need a venue that will hold the number of people you think would attend. We would publicize it on the TSRA website, here on the TexasCHLforum, and on the TSRA email list, but we also want your group to publicize it. This means the venue should be able to handle the largest of your estimated response.

I know that this is still in the works in getting started, but where would be the best placed to look for announcements ahead of time when one is scheduled? This site, TSRA? Just making sure I don't miss any announcements. I am very interested in attending.

Sorry, skipped right over CHAS answer by mistake.

I've seen quite a bit of interest but not a lot of public volunteering done yet. I live and work a few miles west of the Fort Worth area and I'd be glad to offer my time and abilities to do the leg work and phone calling to get something rolling for this area. What I'm short on is experience in knowing where and how to start organizing such an endeavor. I don't know where to begin guessing how many an event like this would draw. So what I'm getting at is I need a willing Chief, a leader with the knowledge, experience, and a little patience that would give me some direction in where to start, to set up some parameters of what to look for, to select possible date or dates, so on and so forth. I believe I can get it done if someone has the time to give me direction.

My employer has lot's of contacts in the Metroplex and as a public speaker, would be a great and willing resource for me to draw on for ideas of possible places, etc... but I don't think he would have the time to devote to doing it himself. He would however, allow me to have the time since he's an avid sportsman, a staunch 2nd Amendment supporter, and just an all around great guy. Together, we got ourselves organized to do our CHL last spring and he, like I, believe we need to be better equipped by having a more thorough understanding of the laws we want to live within.

So if you, Mr Cotton, or one of your assistants believe I could be a tool to get something going in the Fort Worth area then please feel free to email or pm me and I'll gladly give you my contact information so together we can get this thing going forward.
