Ammo on sale
Sports Authority has a flyer in today's Dallas Morning News. On the back page, is a very small ad for Winchester Ammo.
50 round Boxes:
9mm 115 grain - $5.99
.40 Cal 180 grain - $8.99
.38 Spl 150 grain - $7.99
I'm going to take the ad to Wal-Mart and get a price match.

I found out the lowdown on walmart's ammo prices. Their prices vary based on geographic location and probably income level. One Walmart may have it for $4.63 and the next one might have it for $6+. Call around first!

This is EXACTLY right. I just bought 500 rounds of WWB 9mm from Wal Mart on Hwy 121 in The Colony. I paid $4.63 a box.SW40VE wrote:I found out the lowdown on walmart's ammo prices. Today, I visited this high dollar newer Wal-Mart Super Center concept store in Plano that is a much cleaner place with just a whole different atmosphere. Does not really feel like a Wal-Mart. Anyway, the same ammo was $7.17 a box.

I purchased 12 boxes of WWB 115 9mm from Wally World today for 4.63. However my father in another town was looking at 7.17 per 50 of WWB.
I guess I will need to make another run to Wally World. Im sure it wont be long before its $7.17 here too...

The guy in the "hunting area" said that Sports Authority now wants just to focus of selling of baseball, football, soccer team uniforms for schools...n related shorts, etc.
Really not carrying much of anything at Midway and LBJ store....
Wally World across Midway @ LBJ was selling the WWB50 box 9mm for $6.00 something...maybe $6.77 believe that was it... and the $12.68 (up a buck from last time) on the WWB100 pack 9mm.

The guy I talked to at Wally World, at that store they had already phased out firearms(St Francis and I30), and that would continue with all of their stores. He said in a year or so, from what he's heard, they won't carry ammo anymore either.
Its a shame, but a heck of an excuse to get into reloading..."I'm sorry honey, but the ammo is so expensive at that gun store...."
