You may want to hold out for one of these two types of hooks to avoid the clip being seen:

Where is "local" ? :confused5

If we know what area you're in , someone may be able to direct you to a store.
Academy is not the place to get a quality holster.
Your money would be better spent on one of the above mentioned holsters.

Don't go cheap. Check out the Milt Sparks Versa Max II. It is worth the wait.

I second the Cross Breed. i wear one 12-18hrs a day w a Glock 19 and I love it....but get either the c-clips or J-clips as the metal ones are more noticable and have torn all of my shirts to threads. I got mine in the mail 5 days after I ordered. I have tried MANY different holsters and this is by far my favorite.

Other than local stores like Bass Pro, Academy and Cabela's for hands on, you might want to try the largest gun stores you know about.

Many of us go to gun shows to shop for holsters. I found mine at one, and am well pleased. For tuckable IWB's, online is the only place I've seen Crossbreed and M-Tac.

In the Day-To-Day section of the forum, there's a great sticky thread of 40 or 50 holster makers and their websites. It's a great resource. Check it out. And welcome to the forum! :tiphat:

I'm "budget-minded" (fixed income)

I really like the Kholster, and really like Crossbreed's Velcro belt.hoster option, but ...

I notice that Minotaur M-TAC has "Spare Minotaur Bodies" $38.00 So I can use the same holster for various pistols.
That's good since sometimes I want to carry my PT92/Glock 19/ Glock 27/ NAA Guardian 380 etc etc ...

I didn't see anything like that option for Crossbreed, Kholster, or any other brand. Am I missing something?
Do all others make you buy an entire new holster for each gun?

Sidearmor has modular kydex holster systems for many popular pistols.

I would recomend the Supertuck also. I use the metal clips and I'm very happy with mine. If you don't want the metal clips to show, Crossbreed also makes a belt with velcro sewn on the inside of the belt and special clips that completely conceal. I believe the special clips are included when you buy the belt.

I wore a shoulder holster that a friend made for about a year before I found out about the Supertuck. The Supertuck is all I use now.

Again, my $0.02 worth. :txflag:

Edited for spelling and grammar!
