American Bull Dog

#1

Post by JLaw »

I've been checking out Dad's collection the last few days and stumbled across an "American Bull Dog" that I learned was Mom's uncle's revolver. From what I've heard it is an early SNS, worth not much more than the stories of memories I hear behind it, "one rung lower than an RG revolver" ( :ack: ) as one relative put it. Poor thing doesn't even lock up properly anymore, hammer does not always operate when trigger is pulled, basically VERY unsafe to operate. But I though it was neat after hearing the stories my uncle (Mom's brother) told of refusing my great uncle's offer to shoot the revolver many, MANY decades ago due to it's unsafe condition at that time(!!!) and thought I'd like to share.

Here's to heirlooms, stories, and memories...

I've got an old H&R .22 nine shot revolver that belonged to my Dad. It's in pretty rough shape mechanically - I'm afraid to shoot it.....and its pretty ugly as well :ack:
