What are the differences between 92FS and PT92?

I am just curious. They seem to have the same design and PT92 came out from the same machinery that was used to produce 92FS in Brazil, but Taurus is quite a bit cheaper. I just would like to know the main differences between the two of them.

thanks in advance  :txflag:

The 92 has a slide mounted decocker/safety. If the lever is in the parallel to the ground position it is ready to fire. The 92 should be carried with the hammer down and the first shot fired double action.

Rotating the lever down disconnects the trigger, placing the pistol on safe. If the hammer is back in the cocked position and the lever is then rotated down, the hammer is safely lowered to the single action position. This is THE safe manner to de-cock the 92, as the firing pin rotates out of position as the lever is pressed downward.

The Taurus has a frame mounted safety/decocker. It operated somewhat like a 1911 style pistol. It is on safe in the up position. Pressing it down to parallel to the ground makes it ready to fire. Pushing it up to the detent puts it on safe. The weapon can be carried with the hammer back and the gun on safe. To fire you simply sweep the safety down.

It can also be carried with the hammer down, and fired with a double action first shot. On the newer Taurus' pressing the safety level down past parallel to the ground will safely lower the hammer. It can be de-cocked safely in that manner.

Both the standard Beretta and Taurus fire all shots after the first shot from single action, unless you de-cock first.
