I owned a P89 several years ago. The only problems were traced to an aftermarket (ProMag) magazine. Never a problem with the factory mags.

P89DC bought new in 1992. Has gone bang every time I pulled the trigger. I like it, but it is so durn BIG.

Out of three Rugers, only my P345 had a minor problem and I fixed it without returning it to the factory. It's been perfect since.
