Re: Guns Vs. Ghosts?
I think there are something that just can't be explained. One thing that makes me laugh though about the ghost hunters out there (not necessarily the show just in general) is that they always seem to act like people they see in horror movies. Talking low, acting like they are walking on egg shells etc. In other words I think that probably 90% of the paranormal occurrences that people experience are more than likely a result of their mind playing tricks on them. I remember when I was very young I asked my granddad if he believed in ghosts and he said basically the same thing. He also said that if people really want something to happen it will. I had a friend that was convinced that ghosts where everywhere and so as it would be many places were haunted in his eyes. Also it seemed he saw something in the neighborhood of 5-6 ghosts a year. A lot of times the stuff he was describing sounded just like light reflections etc. So I guess what I'm taking a long time to say is be careful about giving too much thought to your daughter's "ghost". I've never ever seen anything that I thought was paranormal but I know regular sane people who swear they have. My girlfriend for instance graduated from Norwich University which is the oldest military college in the US (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwich_University). As you can imagine many graduates have perished in battle from 1819 to now. She claims that just about everyone there believes in ghosts because how often they claim to see them roaming the halls. Sabine Field, one of the parade grounds there, is said to be guarded by an un-seen cadet. Apparently people here the foot steps of this ghost often. West Point is supposed to be the same way.
Anyhow to keep it on track with gun discussions I will tell a gun/ghost related story. I had another friend who used to sleep (like I'm sure many of us do) with a pistol on his night stand. One night he was sleeping and for some reason woke up suddenly. He said he saw a black figure standing in his room and yanked his pistol off the night stand and according to him was about to fire at the ghostly man. It was then he realized that one of his drunk (and in my opinion idiotic) roomates had moved a cardboard cut out they found of some actor at Blockbuster. I think he said one of them worked there and got it. Anyhow he didn't shoot but damn near did. I asked him what he thought it was and he said a ghost. I asked what he thought a bullet was going to do and he said he didn't know he was just really scared.

Who you gonna call?! GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!TexasComputerDude wrote:you need one of those unlicensed nuclear accelerators that fire a stream of concentrated protons allowing a wielder to snare a negatively charged ectoplasmic entity....
When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.

actually, I'd call 911, tell them something attacked me and I defended myself, then immediately call my lawyer.
I carry a proton pack because a ghostbuster is to heavy....

Actually, I didn't add the end of the story.
When we moved out, the house was being relocated because a hospital was being built. While it was being moved, one of the workers was killed. He was my wife's "cousin-in-law".
