I recently aquired a Sig 220 through a weird swap, but it has the stainless slide. Really pretty gun.
It shoots fine; however, my '1911 hold' has me mashing on the slide stop, so it fails to lock open on the last round for me. I could change my hold, but since this will not be my carry piece I am not going to.
I carried a 92F for YEARS, so I know the double action/single action trigger system intimately. But after shooting a 1911 for 3 years now all I can say is YUCK!!!
I think I need to buy another 1911. lol

I am big on 1911's but I love my 220. I have an older W. German made one and it's been 100% since day one. I also have 1911's that have exhibited the same reliability. But, the 220 is my bedside gun. I know that no matter what, even if I grab it with my left hand, all I have to do is pull the trigger to get the results I want. It's a flat 8 shot revolver. ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
What is it in the 1911 that makes it so appealing to some/us ??? Well. I took my kimber for the second time today and went thru another 50 rounds.. Results were the same.. jagged hole just below the X and tenth ring 2" group so far no flyers...15yards.. Prior to this I fired 100 rounds using my G17 at 14 yards also and my grouping is slightly looser ( wish I know how to post pics..) I think it's the single action trigger of my kimber that's helping me ... But I'm really amazed by the way it handles... I know I want another 1911 or is it a need ??
