"The Real Gun Show" in Pasadena

#1

Post by sss »

Has anybody been to "The Real Gun Show" in Pasadena before? They have a show coming up this weekend according to http://www.realgunshow.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and I'm thinking about going. Looking to buy a 3rd generation Glock 17 or a similarly sized 9mm pistol.

Is this show worth going to, or should I wait for the next one at the GRB in Houston?

i have been there several times --- its a good show -- prices are better than at grb. i have found most of the time if your selling grb is better -- if your buying pasadena show is better -- but everyone has their opinions

Do I stand a pretty good chance at getting a nice Glock 17 for a reasonable price? I was hoping to save some money -- if the prices aren't all that great, I might as well skip the $7 in tolls, 2 hours of driving, and just drive up the freeway to Carter's Country or Academy.

If Academy has one in stock you usually can't beat there price on a new handgun. Everyone else marks theirs up quite a bit to make the bucks. Last time I went to a gun show at the GRB I could count on one hand the amount of DEALS to be had that I saw. One was a used Glock 19 gen2 for around $350, the other was a new Rock Island Armory 1911 for $385, and a few built M4 uppers for $450. Other than that everything was stupid over priced. Good luck on the Pasadena show.

Academy's Glocks are up to $525 now. I was hoping to score something used for $450 or so. I'm not too concerned about holster wear and such since this will primarily be a range gun.

So... Academy still, or gun show? :)

I think you have an EXCELLENT plan. The Pasadena show stinks.

Did anyone go to the "real gun show" - in Pasadena- this weekend, I'm thinking about going to the show tomorrow, did you see any xdsc OD green models. I've been looking for one, and was hoping that they might be available at the show. Oh- how was the ammo prices, wouldn't mind picking-up some defensive rounds.

Easy! I'm from Stinkadena...I meant Pasadena. The Pasadena Gun Show was pretty weak IMHO. I wasn't too impressed. My bud did get a good deal on a Kimber Stainless Ultra Raptor and I picked up a few Chip McCormick clips for my Kimber Grand Raptor so I guess we did OK. I really wanted to stock up on some .45 FMJ for practice rounds but the prices were just too high for me. I'll keep hunting and pick it up cheaper as I find it.
